A Little About My Background>Taking care of children has been a way of life for me since I was a child myself. My mom has been a day care provider for over 35 years, so I have many years of experience. In 6th grade, after starting homeschool, I was always around to help out during daycare. If the parents needed me on nights or weekends, I was available then as well. The children in my mom's day care became like family and I was always interested in the possibility of opening my own daycare. Me (top left) with my mom's daycare
The summer after graduating from high school, I worked part-time at a home daycare. In August I started dispatching at a plumbing company but I ended up caring for many of my co-workers children on nights and weekends. Because of my love of children, I always had a desire to have children of my own. When I found out that I was going to be a mother, I started the process of getting my childcare license. It was the perfect opportunity to open my own daycare, while also being able to stay at home with my baby. I completed the process in October 2006, when my daughter was 2 months old. I have been a daycare provider for 3 years, and I love my job!

Children love games and books and toys Little girls and little boys Every day learning more Mom and Dad, they adore On sunny days, outside they play Stomping the grass that's green Running in to greatfully say, "I love all the things I have seen... like flowers, rain and birds that fly The clouds that float up in the sky The colors - pink and green and blue" To children all these things are new They need a place that's safe to be While mom and dad cannot see A place to learn their ABCs They will have fun at Emily's.
